The Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) prepares graduates for clinical practice in the profession of occupational therapy. Graduates of the course are eligible for membership with Occupational Therapy Australia and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.The course covers a wide range of topics including theories of what people do in daily life and why; knowledge of the development of human capabilities (e.g. cognitive, motor, psychosocial) and the ways in which injury and illness typically disrupt them; activity and environmental analysis; and theories and techniques for promoting participation in daily life.

Major studies focuses on basic sciences that underpin the study and practice of occupational therapy including human anatomy, human physiology, human neurosciences, growth and life development, psychology and sociology. These form the basis for understanding the links between human occupations, health, development, illness and disability.
To qualify for admission to the honours year a student must have qualified for the pass degree of Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy), or an equivalent qualification, have a WAM of at least 65 in that course and have the permission of the relevant head of department/ discipline/ program coordinator.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) course become eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists (OT Australia) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) Honours degree gives opportunity to become a member of a community of health professionals committed to moving their career forward through research.
