This double degree develops integrated education in both surveying and commerce. It provides dual qualifications in these areas and develops graduates with unique opportunities to utilise enhanced knowledge and expertise in small business management within the surveying industry. Surveying is a high technology area which includes satellite positioning, laser scanning, airborne and marine navigation, digital mapping and remote sensing, environmental management . entrepreneur professionals attain executive positions in companies quicker as legal know-how is essential in making strategic decisions, just as a correct knowledge of economic and legal analysis in business is needed in creating and developing your own projects.
In this course the major studies include satellite positioning, laser scanning, airborne and marine navigation, digital mapping and remote sensing, environmental management .
One TEE Mathematics subject. OR at least Mathematics 2C/2D Mathematics 3C/3D desirable.STAT elements considered are E and Q. STAT applicants will be required to meet entry prerequisites by completing enabling units. This study may extend the duration of the course. Attendance at field excursions and survey camps is compulsory. Students who do not attend will not have completed the course requirements. All degree students should seek employment in their field during the summer vacations. Three months' approved practical experience is required before a surveying degree will be awarded. This requirement must also be met prior to undertaking the Cadastral Option in the final semester. Students must hold a certificate indicating completion of an approved course in senior first aid before graduating.
On completion of the course, surveying students may become eligible for membership to the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI). The course is also fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Excellent opportunities exist with local, state and federal governments, industry sectors - including land development, construction, defence, tourism, mapping, resource development and mining or in private practice as a registered surveyor under the Licensed Surveyors Act (WA).Entrepreneurship is an exciting and innovating field that seeks to study the relationships between people and organisations. You'll develop skills in problem solving, planning, organisation and managing change. Through a practical approach you will be given the opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs to obtain real life practical perspectives of entrepreneurship.As an integral part of this course, you'll have access to some of the latest instrumentation and computer software. This double degree develops scientific principles used to manage data about the Earth's physical shape and develops your skills and knowledge in developing, managing and growing an entrepreneurial venture. This is truly a unique program that develops your specialised skills in surveying and entrepreneurship. With extensive hands-on training you will be job ready upon graduation.High achieving students may complete an additional honours year enabling them to undertake their own significant research project.
