An integral part of health information management is clinical classification, which involves analysing clinical statements and assigning codes using a clinical classification system.This course will give you a thorough knowledge of the introductory level to clinical classification and the foundations of health information. The specialist training includes instruction in governance and structures, fundamental concepts in health data and analysis, and an introduction to information systems in health.
Basic knowledge of science and major knowledge of biology and chemistry
In this course the major studies include analysing clinical statements and assigning codes using a clinical classification system. In this course students are going to get thorough knowledge of the introductory level to clinical classification and the foundations of health information.
A Bachelor degree or equivalent and proof of formal medical terminology training. In certain cases, relevant work experience may be recognised.
Graduates of this course are qualified to seek employment as a clinical coder.
