Murdoch University

The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood 0-8) is an articulated Murdoch University course for students wishing to work in childcare as a director or educator, and as a teacher in lower primary years of schooling (K-3). As part of this articulation, if student have successfully completed a Diploma of Children's Service (Early Childhood and Care) then student will be awarded 24 points of credit towards degree. Admission is open to students who have successfully completed a Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood and Care) from Challenger Institute of Technology, Central Institute of Technology or Polytechnic West.

In this course major studies include development of skills for teaching students aged between 0 to 8 years.
Admission is restricted to applicants who have successfully completed a Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) from either Challenger Institute of Technology, Central Institute of Technology or Polytechnic West. This articulation enables students who have successfully completed this diploma to be awarded advanced standing towards their degree.
Graduates will be eligible for registration with the Western Australian College of Teachers (WACOT). Registration will be recognized by all national teacher accreditation authorities. However, it is the responsibility of graduates to ensure they consult with the Study Excel office to register as a qualified educator regarding registration requirements.
Graduates will have the skills, knowledge and experience required to teach in early childhood education. Additional careers include Child Care Coordinator, Childcare, Family Day Care, Children's Services, Playgroups, Kindergarten - education administrator or policy development officer.
