With admission from a range of pathways, student will get the training and experience to implement engineering solutions. With this three year course student will learn to use and adapt off the shelf' equipment and processes to create and modify both software and hardware to optimize use of resources and efficiency. Student will also use engineering principles for the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of plants and equipment.Students will get chance to choose from four specializations: Industrial Computer Systems Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering. This course gives student the option to take up engineering technologist roles for a variety of industries and will work as part of a team, implementing engineering processes. Students will also have the chance to build on degree and upgrade to the Bachelor of Engineering in just one more year of study and become a professional engineer.
Basic engineering principles.
In this course major studies include design principles, manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of plants and equipment.
As per normal undergraduate admission requirements. It is recommended that students have completed the equivalent of Mathematics 3C/3D, Mathematics: Specialist 3C/3D, Physics 3A/3B and Chemistry 3A/3B. Students who do not have the necessary Mathematical and Physics prerequisite knowledge may take an extra semester to complete their studies.
Graduates of accredited engineering courses are eligible for Graduate Membership of Engineers Australia. Full Chartered Professional Engineer status can then be achieved after a further three to five years of work experience in the engineering profession.
