General knowledge about Maritime Operations.
The major studies focus on acquiring of knowledge and skills in Fisheries Management, Aquaculture Management, Marine Conservation Management.
The completion of Advanced Diploma of Applied Science (Nautical Science) or an equivalent qualification (such as MasterClass 1 Certificate of Competency).The students with English as a second language need an IELTS score.
The Bachelor of Applied Science (Maritime Operations) will articulate directly into a number of post graduate courses that are offered by the National Centre for Ports and Shipping in the area of Maritime Logistics and Management and Ports and Terminal Management .Applicants holding an Advanced Diploma to demonstrate significant industrial and/or seatime experience may also elect to articulate directly into the postgraduate courses.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Marine Environment) are equipped with specialist skills and knowledge required by a diverse range of private and public sector organizations Graduates in Fisheries Management are leaders in the development, management and implementation of best practice wild-capture fishery policy and practices. They are employed as Fisheries Biologists or Scientists, Fisheries Managers and Fisheries Surveillance Officers.Career roles for Marine Conservation Graduates exist in the areas of Marine Biosecurity, Protected Area Management and Conservation Advocacy.
