In this course students will learn how to design, install, manage and maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. Students will explore technologies for controlling a range of manufacturing and industrial processes such as programmable logic controllers PLC, and supervisory control and data acquisition SCADA. Students will learn practical skills in our industry-standard, on-campus Pilot plant, being taught by our award-winning lecturers. And, with our unique internship program, students will complete 500 hours of approved work experience, gaining professional industry experience and hands-on skills. As an Instrumentation and Control Engineer students will work to ensure that systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently and safely and be employed by the companies who manufacture and supply the equipment, or for the companies who use it.
