Murdoch University

This course helps student to explore passion for science and learn about Physics and Nanotechnology. With this course students will explore classical and modern physics, investigating the physical world around us and beyond. Student’s will also learn about Nanoscience, the science of the really small, and gain an understanding of the rules and complexities of physics at finer and finer levels. As a Physics and Nano science student ,Student’s will gain practical experience after working in nanotechnology laboratories with state of the art equipment. Students will also get the chance to work on exciting and innovative projects .This degree will give the skills and knowledge to manipulate matter on the nanoscale, allowing to play an important role in the creation of new materials for areas like medicine, engineering, water purification, energy generation, mobile telecommunications and space exploration.
Basic knowledge of physics.
In this course major studies include gaining of in-depth knowledge related to Nano science, the science of the small, and gaining an understanding of the rules and complexities of physics at finer and finer levels.
As per normal undergraduate admission requirements. Students who have not completed the necessary mathematics or physics at WACE-level may be required to complete introductory units in first year.
After completing this course from Murdoch university, The students is professionally accredited by the Institute of Physics.Students who have completed this degree can apply to the Academic Chair for membership to the Australian Institute of Physics and the Institute of Physics (UK).
As a Murdoch Physics and Nanotechnology graduate, Employment outlook of student becomes bright, especially after combining degree with units from other disciplines. The notion of creating new materials and building Nano scale devices by manipulating atoms one at a time is a revolutionary one. Imagine having lights that can last forever and consume virtually no electricity, or self cleaning windows, scum-resistant tiles and stain-resistant fabrics. The Physics and Nanotechnology Degree combines a rigorous basis of Classical and Modern Physics with the cutting-edge science of Nanotechnology. The following are some of those areas in which student gets employment after pursuing this degree are Physicist:- Physicists involved in applied research build upon the discoveries made through basic research and work to develop new devices, products, and processes. Physicists also design research equipment, which often has additional unanticipated uses. Biophysicist:-Biophysicists apply the laws of physics to biology. A biophysicist may develop and apply models and experimental techniques derived from physics. Medical Physicist:-Medical Physicists are trained to understand the dangers of radioactivity and uphold safety standards. They can work in environmental health, testing levels of radioactivity in air and water, medical health, ensuring that radiology and radiation therapy is carried out according to health guidelines, or in the power reactor industry, where they are responsibility for overall safety and worker health. Medical Physicists help protect people and the environment from hazardous radiation exposure by monitoring the manufacture, handling, and disposal of radioactive material.
