This joint degree combines both Primary Education with Australian Indigenous Studies. Students will gain a critical understanding of Australia's original custodians and their cultures. Students will also explore traditional and contemporary forms of Indigenous Australia to understand its diversity and discover how to 'close the gap' in educational outcomes for Australian Indigenous students. Students will become an educator with the skills, knowledge and motivation to improve education for Indigenous students in Australia after pursuing this degree and will develop new understandings of Indigenous cultures and learn the importance of teaching Aboriginal Studies across the curriculum as a teacher.

On completion of the Primary Education (Bed) and Australian Indigenous Studies (BA), Students will get accreditation from recognized university and are eligible for graduate studies or employment in government and independent schools.
After completing graduation from Murdoch degree the career opportunities for students are wider.The employment opportunities includes:- Teacher:- Teachers design classroom presentations to meet students needs and abilities. They also work with students individually. Teachers plan, evaluate, and assign lessons,prepare, administer, and grade tests, listen to oral presentations, and maintain classroom discipline. Special Education Teacher:-Special Education Teachers work with children and youths who have a variety of disabilities. A small number of special education teachers work with students with mental retardation or autism, primarily teaching them life skills and basic literacy. However, the majority of special education teachers work with children with mild to moderate disabilities, using the general education curriculum, or modifying it, to meet the childs individual needs.Education Administrator:-Education Administrators provide instructional leadership as well as manage the day-to-day activities in schools. Education Administrators set educational standards and goals and establish the policies and procedures to carry them out. They also supervise managers, support staff, teachers, counsellors, librarians, coaches, and others. They develop academic programs, monitor students educational progress; train and motivate teachers and other staff, manage career counselling and other student services, administer recordkeeping; prepare budgets, handle relations with parents, prospective and current students, employers, and the community; and perform many other duties.
