This course is intended to provide graduates of other disciplines with training in the languages and background on cultural, political, economic, historical and social issues in the Asian region. This degree is interdisciplinary, taking advantage of a range of units in relevant postgraduate courses including Education, History, Public Policy, Science and Technology Policy, International Business and Environmental Science.

Recognised Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline, or equivalent training, or satisfactory preparation through previous study or professional experience.
The students after completing this course gets accreditation from National Accreditation Authority for Translation and Interpreters (NAATI) .
The focus on Asia recognizes the increasing importance for Australia to produce more graduates trained in Asian languages and studies. This course is designed for graduates with a personal or professional interest in Asian socio-cultural studies and may lead to a career in a related area, for example teaching, or media relations in an Asian corporation.
