The Associate Degree in Arts offers students the taste related to humanities and social sciences subject areas available in the Bachelor of Arts are also available to the Associate Degree students including: Aboriginal Studies, Ancient Civilisations, Ancient Greek, Art Theory, Asian Religions and Comparative Philosophy, Asian Studies, Behavioural Studies, Chinese, Criminology, English, European Studies, French, Gender Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies, German, History, Indonesian, International Relations, Japanese, Journalism, Media and Communications, Latin, Music History, Music Skills, Music Technology, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Public Policy and Sociology.In addition to these areas of study, foundational units can be also undertaken such as Foundations in Critical Thinking, Understanding this Region, Thinking and Writing at University, Computer Applications, and Preparatory Studies in Fine Art and Design. Students may receive a conditional offer that requires them to undertake Foundation units and all other students can choose whether they study these units , also part-time study is not available to international students. It provides students with an alternative pathway in the University if they do not meet the minimum entry requirements for degree courses.This course can be a stepping- stone to further study, or a stand-alone qualification that formally recognizes students study at the University level . International students are not eligible to study at the Cradle Coast campus. Students on an international students visa must speak to International Services if they intend to undertake any study via distance education.
