This course helps to enhance understanding of public policy issues and further professional career. This one semester course gives the chance to build knowledge in a number of specializations: Ecologically Sustainable Development, Education for Sustainability, Environmental Ethics, Local Governance, Sustainable Urban and Regional Planning. Designed for industry professionals, and will enhance for understanding and gaining further insight into area of interest. This course will help to drive career into specialized roles within government departments, non-government organizations, as well as the private sector.

Major studies include development of knowledge related to Ecologically Sustainable Development, Education for Sustainability, Environmental Ethics, Local Governance, Sustainable Urban and Regional Planning.
To be eligible to this course the student must have recognized Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent training.
Students graduating with the degree are internationally recognised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). In addition, the Construction Management and Quantity Surveying is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building and has national accreditation with the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. Students who successfully complete this specialisation will have met the educational requirements set by the Building Services Authority Queensland for the granting of an Open Builders’ Licence. Property Valuation graduates are recognised by the Australian Property Institute (API). The API accreditation allows Property Valuation students to apply for registration as Certified Practising Valuers with the New South Wales Office of Fair Trading and Valuers Registration Board Queensland upon graduation (conditional on meeting professional practise requirements). Urban Development and Sustainability graduates qualify for Associate Membership with the API.
Depending on specialization, with this course students will have the opportunity to affect change and development in policy, whether this is for industry, government or non-government organizations.
