This degree will provide veterinarians with knowledge and expertise in epidemiology and in particular skills in disease surveillance and monitoring. This course will help to develop the skills necessary for effective disease surveillance and implementation of disease control strategies. The degree will provide instruction on the diagnosis, detection and control of new, emerging and re-emerging diseases.

A recognized Bachelor's degree in the same or a relevant area, usually requiring at least three years of full-time study or its equivalent, or higher, or satisfactory preparation through a combination of previous study and work experience.
Students will gain professional recognition from the Australian Veterinary Association .
