The Diploma in International Studies provides students with the opportunity to undertake units from a diverse range of disciplines that have an international focus.Where feasible, students may choose to undertake the Diploma concurrently with their Bachelor degree or as a stand alone qualification.
General knowledge about International Studies.
The major studies included in this faculty are based on providing the students with the opportunity to undertake units from a diverse range of disciplines that have an international focus.The Theme areas include Politics and International Relations; Culture; Race and Ethnicity; Religion; Economics; and Language and Literature.
The applicants are expected to meet the normal requirements set by the University for entry to degree courses. There are also several categories of special admission.For international students, IELTS score or equivalent, completion of TAFE/VET qualification.Provision of a supporting statement outlining evidence of capacity to succeed, Results from a relevant aptitude test, Prior university study, either completed or partially completed. If the student has already completed or are completing the senior secondary schooling (Year 12/13) in 2012, the student can apply for entry on the basis of the senior secondary school qualifications.
Articulation to or from the course may be given to general entry for international students, IELTS (Academic) score or equivalent.The credit may be given to some units recognised in the relevant Associate Degree. The value of 50% (4 x 12.5%) may be awarded towards the relevant Bachelor degree, if the Diploma has not been taken concurrently with that degree.Students who are pursuing concurrent study in both the Diploma and either a bachelor or postgraduate degree, could receive credit to the maximum value of 25% (2x12.5%) toward the main degree, subject to successfully passing units in the Diploma, unless otherwise stated by the coordinator of the relevant degree (undergraduate or postgraduate).
The graduates may gain employment in fields such as politics (federal and international), government and non-government organizations (NGOs), International aid, multi-national corporations
