This Course is offered via the Centre for University Preparations and Pathways through four Foundation Level units which are Learning at University, Academic Writing, Research and Information Skills, Transition Maths is also offered via the Faculty of Arts,through two Foundation Units which are compulsory as a study for understanding the Region, Foundations of Critical thinking in this course.
General knowledge of University Studies including general information about Arts.
The major studies include development of skills related to foundation of knowledge, skills and achievement at introductory level in at least two units in an area of study in which they wish to gain entry to a degree.
The Diploma of University Studies (Arts) is designed for applicants who do not meet entrance requirements for their chosen degree or for those who want a more supported or graded introduction to their studies
The students undertaking preparatory study in the University Preparation Program will get credit into the Diploma for any successfully completed equivalent units. Students graduating from the Diploma will get credit either into Associate Degree (4 foundation units plus credit for any successfully completed first year units) or into a degree (credit for any successfully completed first year units in the destination degree course). Students will be able to articulate from any VET Certificate 1V into the Diploma of University Studies.
After pursuing this degree from University Of Tasmania, Graduates will be able to transfer into the VU Bachelor of Education (P-12) program via the internal course transfer process, Graduates will become eligible to apply for other Bachelor level programs, Graduates could seek work as teacher aides or integration aides
