Natural resource managers apply scientific, economic and social knowledge to help society resolve these conflicts. If student is having a strong interest in science, a commitment to conserving natural resources in a sustainable manner, and want to play a role in the future of environment, then this course is very much suitable for student. Teaching methods consist of lectures from leading experts, practical classes, computer labs and tutorials. This major also includes field work and two field trips of two to three days. The Faculty is well equipped for teaching and research in natural resource management and our teaching is supported by the world class research of the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy, the Centre of Excellence in Natural Resource Management and the Centre for Regional Development.

Major studies include development of scientific, economic and social knowledge to help society to resolve issues surrounding the use of natural resources and the conservation of the environment.
Graduates with a major in Natural Resource Management are eligible for membership with the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology.Students with a Natural Resource Management major can pursue further studies at honors level and/or at master's level.
Numerous career paths await Natural Resource Management graduates. Key employers include federal and state departments and agencies responsible for the environment, conservation, climate change policy, agriculture and food, and primary industries. Other employers are private sector firms working in the resources sector and non-governmental organizations such as Land care. This course leads to become a: Agricultural Consultant, Conservation Officer, Environmental Consultant, Environmental Manager, Environmental Scientist, Geographer, Land Economist, University Lecturer.
