A Physiology course will teach students how the human body works, from the molecular and cellular level, to tissues, organs and whole organisms, and will explain how these interact together with the environment to produce beneficial results for the organism. Students will also examine diseases, and the changes that occur at the molecular and cellular level and how these impact on whole body function. Through these investigations students will come to understand how physiologists contribute to the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to combat the mechanisms of disease. To complement lectures students will have the chance to discuss, apply and expand on the theory of unit in regular practical laboratory classes and structured tutorials. Students will also get chance to use the latest electronic hardware and software to measure cell and body functions. At University of Western Australia, Students will be taught by internationally renowned researchers. Furthermore, studies in Physiology at University of Western Australia are firmly grounded in physical science principles, giving students an in-depth understanding of the fundamental nature of life processes.
