The Faculty of Business offers units to enable students to apply to join the following professional bodies: Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia, Australian Human Resources Institute, Australian Institute of Management, Australian Marketing Institute, Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries in Australia, Australian Institute of Banking and Finance, Australian Computer Society,National Institute of Accountant.
Major knowledge about Business and Economics.
The major studies included in this course are development of the basic skills related to central banking, commercial consulting, commercial banking, local government, administration, management, market research, merchant banking, political advising, stockbroking and teaching.
Basic University’s admission are required.No other prerequisites apply for the BBus component of the degree.For Economics component (combined degree): students are required to have Mathematics Applied, or an equivalent, or, a higher level mathematics subject, as approved by the School of Economics and Finance.  Students returning to study either after a long absence and/or new students, who have the mathematics prerequisite but who lack confidence in their quantitative skills should enrol in either Mathematics Foundation Unit, Bridging Maths orIntroduction to Quantitative Methods before enrolling in Quantitative Methods .International students ( same prerequisite as domestic students) may only take Introduction to Quantitative Methods.Students who have completed approved courses in a diploma or advanced diploma in a business related discipline from an Australian institute of TAFE may receive credit into the degree. In the case of international students, credit for previous study will be determined on application.International students must provide an IELTS score or TOEFL score with a Test of Written English score.The test must not be more than 24 months old.
After completion of this course the BBus students become eligible and can apply for the membership of a professional body in which they will need to select units endorsed by that body such as institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia, Australian Human Resources Institute, Australian Institute of Management, Australian Marketing Institute, Chartered Institute of Company Secretaries in Australia, Australian Institute of Banking and Finance, Australian Computer Society,National Institute of Accountant.
The BBus specifically prepares students to work in accounting, corporate governance, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, information systems, international business, in human resource management and tourism.The BEc degree opens up many career opportunities. Past graduates have established careers in a wide range of activities: some examples include: central banking, commercial consulting, commercial banking, local government, administration, management, market research, merchant banking, political advising, stockbroking and teaching.
