This program fosters the development of critical analysis and research competence as well as an advanced set of knowledge and skills in dental public health. The Graduate Diploma of Dental Public and Primary Health is designed to be an appropriate broad-based course of study for a person who wishes to advance their knowledge of, but does not intend to pursue a career in dental public and primary health. The course comprises of eight units that can be taken from either the Public Dental Health stream or the Rural and Remote Dental Health stream.
Good knowledge of biology.
Major studies focus on Principles and Practice of Public Health, Applied Research for Public Health, Public Health Informatics, Leadership in Public Health, Decision Analysis and Evaluation Methods in Health Care and Health Care Financing, Dental Public Health, preventive Dentistry.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
This course is subject to professional accreditation by the Australian Dental Council and the Dental Board of Australia, graduates from the Graduate Diploma in Dental Therapy Program will be eligible for registration in Australia as Dental Therapists.
This degree will provide skills, expertise, knowledge and understanding, which will assist students in taking the next step in career and student after completion of this course can pursue employment as Dentist.
