The Graduate Diploma in Education is for students with a relevant bachelor's degree who wish to qualify as a secondary teacher. This one-year course is for graduates who wish to aspire career as secondary school teachers. Candidates must have a degree with a major in the subject that they wish to teach and which can be found in the school curriculum.

International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
The Graduate Diploma in Education is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, or TRBWA (formerly known as the Western Australian College of Teaching, or WACOT). Graduates are eligible to register with TRBWA and this entitles students to be legally employed as a teacher in a Western Australian school.
Graduates of this course are qualified to work in government and non-government schools.
