A broad range of opportunities are available for dentists, and for those with a background in other disciplines, who are interested in research in this developing field. Graduates of this course are skilled in (1) dealing independently with all routine forensic odontological casework. (2) the efficient referral of cases of special difficulty outside or beyond their expertise. (3) functioning under supervision as a member of a Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team. (4) the independent preparation of evidence for presentation to courts of law and (5) being aware of their own need for further education in forensic odontology.
