This course gives students a solid grounding in economic theory and history while developing skills in quantitative analysis and logical thought. Students will graduate with a confident grasp of the tools necessary to analyze and solve business problems in the workplace. Develop skills in economic modelling, quantitative methods and statistics and apply economics to policy issues and real-world problems. Train in microeconomics (the study of households, firms and market) and macroeconomics (the study of growth, unemployment and inflation).
Good Communication Skills.
Gaining of knowledge related to Introductory Statistics for Business, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics theory and analysis, Introduction to Quantitative Analysis are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have completion of VCE and units 3 and 4 with study score of at least 25 in English (ESL) or 20 English (any). Applicants with comparable qualifications will be considered. A limited number of students may also be considered under Special Entry Schemes.
This course is accredited by Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Institute of Charted Accountants Australia (ICAA).
Students will have career opportunities in the government and private sectors. Work in consulting, foreign exchange dealing, analysis and forecasting, and investment banking.
