Studying the Master of Commerce (Advanced) will enable students to make connections between what they learn in the classroom and situations that arise in workplace. In this course students will completely study core concepts in all the principal areas of business – accounting and finance, economics, decision making and ethics – as well as a range of specializations and electives. Students can choose to complete one or two specializations from the following areas: accounting, business information management, economics, electronic business, employment relations, finance, human resource management, international business, management or marketing.This course is suitable for both business graduates and non-business graduates.
Basic knowledge of accountancy.
In this course major studies include development of in depth knowledge in all the principal areas of business – accounting and finance, economics, decision making and ethics – as well as a range of specializations and electives.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
After pursuing this degree, Graduates become eligible for membership with the following professional bodies: Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, Australian Computer Society, Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance, Chartered Secretaries Australia Limited, Certified Practicing Accountants Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Both subject-specific knowledge and generic skills are developed in this course, providing the opportunity for a range of specializations and electives to be covered. Graduates may be employed in their area of interest or specialization at a senior level.
