Major studies include development of skills related to education and teaching.

No subject prerequisites apply, however applicants are expected to meet normal university entry requirements.

The students who have undertaken an appropriate course at another Australian or overseas institution of further education or TAFE college may apply to receive credit for such study. Applications for credit can be made upon application to the Bachelor of Education course,Honours, Postgraduate coursework.The student upon completion of the degree can become eligible for Teacher registration in (Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board).

Graduates of the Bachelor of Education will be qualified to teach in public and private sector schools from Grade 7 to Grade 12. Graduates with the Health & Physical Education specialization will also be qualified to teach in public and private schools from Kindergarten Grade 6.
