This program prepares student for a career as a specialist physical education teacher. Coaching, health and fitness promotion and sport education for school and community based groups might be just some of student’s responsibilities. Graduates can get chance to teach primary and secondary students in government and independent schools, and have the opportunity to teach students with disabilities. Student’s will also gain understanding of: the exercise sciences and their influence and effects on human performance, the professional role of physical educators, the contribution educators make to school and community needs. This course also helps to gain a second teaching method, which may include biology, health or maths. Students of this course will be exposed to a broad study of exercise sciences (anatomy, physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, motor learning), sport and physical activity, and their application to the teaching of physical education and sport in schools.
