This program offers a comprehensive graduate education in both the empirical and theoretical aspects of contemporary international affairs and globalization. This course engages students in the many issues raised by the rapidly changing nature of the contemporary international system. Students will also be able to develop expertise in particular aspects of international relations including international security, terrorism, foreign policy, international political economy, international environmental issues and Asian studies. There are two study options available such as 80 credit points of coursework, 40 credit point of coursework and a 40 credit points research dissertation (on campus only).

In this course the major studies includes development of skills in problem solving and written and oral communications. Student will also study International Relations as part of a double major with: History, Japanese, Journalism, Geography (Sustainable Development), Anthropology and Sociology, Asian Studies, Business Law (Business), Chinese, Economics (Business).International Relations is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. Students can enhance studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals. Students can also study international Relations as part of the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts double degree. When coupled with Business Law or Economics students can complete this major as part of our Bachelor of Arts or our Bachelor of Commerce.
This program is designed to provide students with a broad range of skills and expertise relevant to the conduct of International Relations. Graduates with these skills and expertise work in wide variety of occupations, from government and public service to non-governmental organizations, multinational corporations, and media outlets. This program can also offer pathways into further study and research degrees through the Master of International Relations by Research.
A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21), a minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
