If students have an undergraduate degree and want to work in primary schools, this course will prepare students to teach. In this degree students will study curriculum and teaching in primary school as well as key areas of learning such as mathematics, language, literacy and reading. This graduate entry program will let students build on their existing knowledge to start a teaching or education career focusing on children from kindergarten (Foundation) to year 6.

Gaining of knowledge related to Curriculum and Teaching in Primary School, Mathematics in Schools, Language, Literacy and Learning, Classroom Management and Assessment, Key Competencies in Inclusive Education, Education: The Learner, The Policy Context, Professional Experience in the Primary School, Curriculum and Teaching in Primary School, Reading Acquisition in the Primary Classroom are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
Students are eligible to this course if they have an undergraduate Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Prospective students will have their previous studies assessed against the NSW Institute of Teachers Key Learning Area content requirements.
This course is accredited by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the NSW Institute of Teachers.
Students of this course will have career as a primary teacher, education and training of adults, educational adviser to government or other agencies, educational planning and policy, educational researcher.
