In this course students will learn principles of effective science communication, development of practical skills and design strategies that address the communication needs of groups such as government organizations, informal museums, science centers and research centers. Students take education units that fulfill requirements leading to their teaching qualification. These include science major curriculum units, a minor curriculum unit, two school experience units and others as outlined in the course rules.

Major studies focus on development of understandable knowledge , researching, writing and overseeing the production of publications, posters or brochures,preparing publicity material or media releases,designing exhibitions and displays, communicating with the media and delivering talks and presentations to the public.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
