The Master of Teaching (Music) will provide students with the necessary skills to operate as a multi-skilled and versatile professional music educator across early childhood, primary and secondary settings. In addition, the course includes the study of instrumental / vocal teaching practices that will equip student’s for studio music teaching. This course covers essential music educator competencies such as: planning and programming music curriculum, choral and vocal pedagogy and leadership, ensemble and instrumental pedagogy and leadership, vocal and instrumental arranging, improvisation and performance, popular and world music skills. This course will ensure students to prepare for entering the workforce with a focus on relevant developmental, pedagogical and curriculum issues and national standards for graduate teachers. Graduates from this course will be qualified to teach classroom music at primary and secondary levels.

Major studies focus on study of instrumental / vocal teaching practices, planning and programming music curriculum, choral and vocal pedagogy and leadership.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
The Master of Teaching is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRB) (formerly known as the Western Australian College of Teaching, or WACOT). Graduates are eligible to register with TRB and this entitles them to be legally employed as a teacher in a Western Australian school.
This course will lead to become professional music educator , Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher, Music Teacher, Primary School Teacher.
