This course gives an opportunity for students to undertake professional preparation for a career as a secondary teacher if student has completed a bachelor's degree. As a student in the master's component of the course, Students are prepared for teaching in specific areas of the school curriculum. In the final year, Students may have the opportunity to experience teaching practice in an international, regional or remote setting, or to specialize in a chosen aspect of secondary education.
Good communication and teaching skills.
Development of teaching skills at the secondary stage is included as major concept of study.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
The Master of Teaching is accredited by the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRB) (formerly known as the Western Australian College of Teaching, or WACOT). Graduates are eligible to register with TRB and this entitles them to be legally employed as a teacher in a Western Australian school.
