The Master of Urban Design (Coursework and Dissertation) is designed to broaden the interdisciplinary scope of urban design work undertaken by architects, planners, landscape architects or professionals in related fields. This course is offered by the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts and delivered by The Australian Urban Design Research Centre (formerly the Urban Design Centre of Western Australia). Students develop in-depth understanding of urban design theories and issues, techniques of urban analysis, and skills for the design and development of cities and urban places. Through their research by dissertation and/or design they design and implement a process to resolve a complex urban problem.

Development of in-depth understanding of urban design theories and issues, techniques of urban analysis, and skills for the design and development of cities and urban places is included as major part of study.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
This course is accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia.
After pursuing this degree the students will have knowledge and understanding of the complex nature of urban design issues and prepare students for the next step in career in urban design and this course leads to become an Urban Designer
