This program entails theoretical and clinical training and the development of research skills in the Periodontology discipline in dentistry. This program provides an avenue for qualified dentists to pursue high level studies and the development of advanced clinical skills, research and understanding in Periodontology.

The major studies focuses on gaining of knowledge in oral biosciences and biomedical foundations in oral health. This course emphasizes the importance of prevention as a goal and introduces clinical practice. Development of the knowledge and clinical skills needed for the care of individual patients. Exploring the principles and philosophies underlying health promotion for individuals and the community are also involved as major concept of study.
The Doctor of Clinical Dentistry is accredited by the Australian Dental Council.
Graduates of this program may become eligible to apply for specialist registration with the Dental Board of Australia (via the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency) subject to meeting any additional requirements that may be stipulated by the Dental Board of Australia.
