This course is offered to qualified physiotherapists who possess a recognized honors (IIA or First Class) or master's degree in the cognate area. This professional doctorate is a research-based degree but, unlike the PhD, comprises a more practical-focused thesis. In this course students are encouraged to take up research questions that are relevant to their current clinical or projected career interests, that are closely related to the areas of research activity within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Studies. Development of comprehensive, integrated knowledge in the theory and practice of physiotherapy to assess, diagnose and treat disorders of human movement are studied as major part of study.
International students must have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (where required), completed to a sufficiently high standard.
Graduates will become eligible to register as a physiotherapist subject to accreditation of the Doctor of Physiotherapy by the Australian Physiotherapy Council.
This degree will provide students with high level, professional qualification for physiotherapists wishing for bright career and this course leads to become Exercise Physiologist, Occupational Health Professional.
