The Faculty of Agriculture and Environment has a long and proud history in research and development in agricultural and related sciences benefitting local and international enterprises and industries. Its research addresses and creates solutions for the most challenging current issues affecting agriculture and management of natural resources, such as food security, climate change, carbon, water and the environment.The Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) may be undertaken within one of the Faculity.

In this course the major studies include research addresses and creates solutions for the most challenging current issues affecting agriculture and management of natural resources, such as food security, climate change, carbon, water and the environment.
A successful applicant for admission to Master of Philosophy candidature need to hold: a bachelor's degree of the Faculty with first or second class honours or equivalent or; a bachelor's degree with a credit grade average or above in the fourth year in the field in which the candidate wishes to continue their research or courses from another faculty or institution deemed by the Faculty to be equivalent to the above.

After completion of Master of philosophy(agriculture) the graduate is offered research in the following areas of specialisation: Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science, Forest Science, Resource Economics, Sustainable Horticulturete .
