This program provides the strong foundation in the physical, biomedical and psychological sciences that will need to become an exercise specialist, or to undertake further studies in the health, education and sporting-related professions. Teaching focuses on practice and problem solving, so that students can readily apply knowledge and skills. Particular attention is given to the scientific basis of human performance and the role of exercise in health maintenance and rehabilitation.
On graduation, Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills for a wide range of career options ranging from the health, rehabilitation, sports and exercise industries to work as a clinical scientist specializing in cardiac, respiratory and sleep medicine. Other options include working as an exercise specialist for community or sports organizations, as a rehabilitation, sports or recreation manager, a sports science administrator, strength and conditioning coach, or as an occupational health and safety officer.
A minimum overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 5, a minimum score of 550 on TOEFL or an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no score less than 19). English test results must be no more than two years old.
