The Bachelor of Nursing is furnished on the basics like educational objectives such as to prepare students for a broad spectrum for the practice roles in community such as health nursing, acute care and mental health nursing; to foster a commitment to life-long learning, critical reflective thinking and professional growth.The Bachelor of Nursing course is offered in 2 modes, a 3 years full time, "Fast Track", 2 years including 2 spring schools. Each option is equivalent to six full-time semesters.Only the Fast Track option is offered in Hobart,and at Rozelle Hospital,St Vincents Hospital and Mater Health in Sydney.

The major objectives of the Bachelor of Nursing are to prepare students for a broad spectrum of first level practice roles in community health nursing, acute care and mental health nursing, to foster a commitment to life-long learning, critical reflective thinking and professional growth to establish a discipline framework of knowledge in preparation for both professional life and graduate studies in nursing.
Pre-Registration: University admission. In addition, TCE subjects should include English, Science and Humanities.To comply with government legislation, all students participating in clinical education placements are required to have a National Police Record Check. It is a School of Nursing and Midwifery requirement that students maintain an immunization schedule as outlined in School of Nursing and Midwifery immunization policy prior to commencing the course. Enrolled Nurses wishing to upgrade their qualifications must have been employed for six months full-time or 12 months part time immediately prior to applying for admission to the BN. They must produce a current practising certificate and be medication endorsed.
After pursuing this degree from University of Tasmania ,Graduates become eligible to apply for registration as a nurse in Australia.If the students are intending to apply for registration as a nurse in another country then student must meet the requirements stipulated by nursing councils, licensing boards or colleges. Therefore,Students are required to contact the Study Excel for detailed information.
Graduates may find employment in many diverse healthcare settings including health centres, hospitals, occupational health and industry, health promotion and education, as well as rural and community settings. Graduates with a Bachelor of Nursing and a current practising certificate are eligible for emplolyment in many other countries as well as Australia. Graduates may also pursue postgraduate opportunities in Nursing or other related disciplines.
