This is 5-year full-time course and is offered by the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Law and is available at Hobart. The first year only is also offered at the Launceston and Cradle Coast campus. This course may be studied part-time.
General knowledge about Business and Law, their application in day to day life.
The major studies included in this course are gaining of in depth knowledge and skills required for career development in Business and Law.
Students must pass the first year of their BBus degree,including the units Law(121),Introduction to Law and Law(122),Legal systems,available at Hobart, Launceston and the Cradle Coast Campus or the academic equivalent. There is a quota on places in this degree and the assessment of applications will be based on academic merit, taking into consideration previous university studies. The three methods of entry are: Direct Entry (for Year 12 leavers only):To be qualified for University entry with a TER score (90) or above limited places available in this entry category. Alternative Entry:  A first year in another faculty, which includes the units LAW121 Introduction to Law and LAW122 Legal systems (or the academic equivalent). Graduate Entry: An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent.
The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws has been accredited by the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board, Queensland, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland as an approved academic qualification under the Supreme Court (Legal Practitioner Admission) Rules 2004 (Qld).
The graduates of combined degrees could expect themselves to find an opening in to all the career paths that are open to graduates in the form of component degree courses such as law, government, foreign affairs and trade, environment, journalism, banking and finance, politics, criminology and corrections, consumer affairs.
