MIBT Deakin University

Deakin’s Bachelor of Laws is designed to produce first-class commercial lawyers. The course provides in-depth studies in each of the major areas of legal practice by offering a number of special features. Students will study many areas of law including core units in Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, Contract, Legal Practice and Ethics, Taxation, Administrative Law, Equity and Trusts, Torts, Competition Law and Policy, and Law, Society and Civil Rights. Students are required to complete 30 days professional work experience in any environment in which students can gain experience on how the law, or the legal system, operates in practice.

Gaining of knowledge related to Communication for Academic Studies, Legal Principles and Skills, Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, Commercial Law, Misleading Conduct and Economic Torts, Criminal Procedure, Corporate Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Land Law, Property, Evidence, Legal Practice and Ethics, Workplace Law, Civil Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Equity and Trusts, Taxation, Competition Law and Policy, Intellectual Property, Legal Problem Solving and Persuasion are the concepts included as major parts in this course.
This course is accredited by Council of Legal Education (COLE).
Students of this course will work as a barrister or solicitor.
