The Bachelor of Agriculture course imparts the students with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills suited to the needs of a professional agriculturalist or horticulturalist.
General knowledge about Agriculture.
The main focus of study is development of skills related to crop production efficiency, environmental management and new technologies.The study areas include Animal science and principals of breeding,Agricultural production and technology,Crop protection and microbiology,, Soil science, Crop production.The course is designed to prepare the applicants a good futile ground for acquiring the knowledge and skills suited to the needs of a professional agriculturalist or horticulturalist.
Minimum university entry requirments.
Articulation to or from the course the candidates who have come from other recognised providers of agricultural or relevant science education may apply to the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology Office for appropriate credit transfer. As a general rule, a maximum of 100% credit would apply. Application must be made to Student Administration.Graduates of the BAppSc(Agr) may progress to the Graduate Diploma of Agricultural Science or the Graduate Diploma of Agricultural Science with Honours, the latter of these potentially leading to Masters or PhD degrees.Graduates from the course are eligible for membership of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (AIAST).
The course is designed to meet an identified demand by employers for graduates qualified and skilled in the application of scientific technology in agricultural and horticultural industries. The course prepares graduates to seek employment in many areas of applied science and agriculture includingAgribusiness and forestry, Service consultancy and business management, Government agencies and private sector,Agricultural development and food production.
