This course aims to provide a professional degree that will graduate people able to fulfil key roles in the IT and related industries, and who will liaise between IT personnel and other professional and industrial personnel.The Bachelor of information Systems involves a broad view to place the students for the better performance in organizations, including business, government and community groups.
General knowledge about the Information Systems.
Gaining the fundamental concepts, knowledge and skills required to facilitate a career in business analysis, project management, data management or e-business in a global economy are the concepts involved as major part of study.
Students who have completed a Diploma of Business in a business discipline or a Diploma of Information Technology from a Tasmanian Institute of TAFE, and have been admitted to the course, may receive credit for up to eight (8) units towards the degree. Students completing an Advanced Diploma in a related discipline may receive credit for up to ten units towards the degree. Depending on the course of study and the majors chosen, students may not be able to use all of the credit that has been granted, for example, credit for unspecified electives. The status of individual units is determined at the time of offer.
The students can apply for Associate membership of the Australian Computer Society.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Information Systems could expect to find employment as a business analyst, database analyst, systems analyst, IT project manager, IT manager, information manager, database administrator, IT administrator or manager, telecommunications manager, IT consultant, electronic commerce or electronic business consultant, web developer, webmaster.
