This degree provides the skills, knowledge and fieldwork needed to regulate and monitor the use of marine resources, to solve problems and conduct research. The degree offers a new multidisciplinary program of core units to enhance the breadth of knowledge across marine biology and geosciences of the students. Whilst science communication, management and marine chemistry are additional options, students will gain relevant core skills in statistical analysis, report writing and project planning.
Good knowledge of Mathematics and Physics.
Students can select one of the subject as a major from Marine Biology, Marine Geoscience.
Students are eligible to this course if they have HSC Earth and Environmental Science and HSC Biology, or international equivalents.
Students of this course will have career as aquaculture/mariculture specialist, coastal manager, computer-based ecological modeller, environmental consultant, exploration geologist, journalist, marine geologist, marine palaeontologist, marine tourism guide, palaeoceanographer.
