The Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies is for students who are interested in gaining a wide interdisciplinary understanding of natural environments and wilderness.
General knowledge about Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies.
The major studies included in this faculty are gaining of a wide interdisciplinary understanding of natural environments and wilderness and developing knowledge, skills and techniques that are useful in employment or other activities related to natural environments and wilderness. Also the course offers a wide range of general abilities such as communication skills, data collection skills, analytical skills, information retrieval, manipulation and presentation skills, the ability to work across traditional discipline areas.
Satisfaction of the University's minimum entry requirements for degree courses. Subject prerequisites apply within the course.
The credit for the relevant units will be given to students transferring from other courses.Another related course offered by this University is the S3G Bachelor of Science (Natural Environment and Wilderness Management) with Honours.The course leads on to the Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies with Honours.This course is accredited by the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre (AILC).
This interdisciplinary course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills that will help them to gain employment related to natural environments and wilderness. Specific opportunities for employment exist in a wide variety of areas including Nature-based and eco-tourism industries, Parks planning and management, Land and heritage management, Environmental organizations and consultancies, Resource-based industries such as forestry, Environmental protection.
