The Diploma consists of an eight-unit program generally undertaken on a part-time basis. The program is taught by the Human Interface Technology Lab, Australia based in the School of Computing and Information Systems.The Human Interface Technology Australia (HIT Lab AU) is a strategic initiative of the University of Tasmania (UTAS). The HIT Lab AU is a specialist teaching and research centre bringing foundation virtual and mixed reality technologies to the Launceston campuses.The broad objective of the Diploma is to equip and inspire students to develop revolutionary interfaces that transform how people interact with computers and improve the human experience. The areas are Cutting-edge visualization, simulation and virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies are introduced.
