The course enables graduates, or those in industry with proven ability, to research, experiment, develop and produce an industry concept, idea or innovation, while being mentored by some of the best talent in the industry or by their own creative technology developments. The course also has specialised streams such as 3D Visualisation and Imagery.Graduates will gain specialised and internationally valuable capabilities enabling them to be employed in a wide range of creative technology industries including film, television, animation, visual effects, scientific visualisation, historical re-creation, medical imagery, forensic imagery, conceptual visualisations, game development, and 3D visualisation for knowledge transfer and training, advertising and promotions.

The major studies incorporated in this course are focused to promote the students in areas such as The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology which offers a variety exciting career path for their future in the various fields such as design and research, the environment, data collection and analysis, computing, project management and teaching.
The Diploma of University Studies (Arts) is designed for applicants who do not meet entrance requirements for their chosen UTAS degree or for those who want a more supported or graded introduction to their studies. This may include mature-aged students returning to study, some VET graduate or students with a low ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions rank) score from their year 11/12 studies. Entry will be granted by assessment of a student's prior study history and supporting statement, literacy and numeracy assessment and/or personal interview.Students ensure of their eligibility to an undergraduate Degree to submit an application to the Degree course in the first instance.
The credit towards this Diploma leads to a Bachelor, leading into Honours, postgraduate coursework and research,PhD.
The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology offers a variety of exciting career outcomes such as the areas including design and research, the environment, data collection and analysis, computing, project management and teaching.
