The School of Nursing and Midwifery, in collaboration with cooperating Health Care Agencies, aims to create an educational environment.This inter-disciplinary course is offered part-time only over 1 year or 2 semesters. It is open to all health professionals employed or wishing to be employed in the area of addiction disorders.
General knowledge about the Addiction Studies for Health Professionals, its importance and need in modern society.
The major studies included in this course aims to create an educational environment which values, critical reflective thinking, life-long learning, acquisition of generic attributes and professional development. The primary course objective is to provide health professionals with the knowledge, awareness and skills to work sensitively with clients and families affected by addiction disorders such as drug and alcohol addiction.
Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree or have qualifications and experience deemed to be the equivalent, and be employed in a field related to addiction disorders.
This course is accredited by the Australian College of Health Service Executives, the Royal College of Nursing Australia, the Australian College of Health Informatics.
Graduates may find employment across a broad range of settings related to addiction disorders.
