They may specialise in areas such as auditing, taxation, insolvency, compliance, or accounting systems and technology.An accounting qualification is very transferable, and graduates may find work in organisations in a wide range of industries, both nationally and internationally.Topics of study include: Accounting principles, Auditing, Taxation,Relevant areas of business law, Financial management.
At least English 2A/2B, Literature 2A/2B or English as an Additional Language/Dialect 2A/2B as well as Mathematics 2C/2D.
In this course the major studies include comprehensive understanding of accounting and its associated fields, including auditing, taxation, business law and financial management, and the use of technology in accounting and business related fields.The major also investigates accounting software and explores the issues, opportunities and challenges for the accounting profession in an environment that relies on e-commerce and technology.
If student is previously worked or studied in this field,then students are encouraged to contact Curtin Business School to discuss eligibility for recognition of prior learning.
Graduates become eligible for membership of CPA Australia(Certified Practising Accountants) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
The career opportunities include Company Secretary,Accountant,Students can join an extra-curricular program in association with an accounting firm.
