This course is intended to provide additional skills, knowledge and academic advancement to individuals who hold an undergraduate degree. The course provides access to the Master of Agricultural Science or PhD degree courses.
General knowledge about Agriculture.
The major studies included in this stream are based to promote a detailed knowledge and skills in areas related to the agricultural industries, agricultural crop and pasture production, animal production, crop protection, service industries to agriculture and agricultural research, Horticultural Science, Sustainable Resource Management.
Admission is open to graduates holding a recognised degree in a science-based discipline. Where an undergraduate degree has been obtained recently, a minimum average result of 65% obtained in the final year of study would be required for entry to the Honours program.
Articulation to or from the course can be awarded to any recognised science-based bachelor degree may lead into the GradDipAgrSc(Hons) course.Graduates of the GradDipAgrSc(Hons) may progress to Master or PhD courses.The course is accredited by is accredited by the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (AIAST) and graduates are eligible to apply for membership.
Graduates will improve their career potential and broaden the scope of available professional pathways. Graduates of sufficient merit may gain access to higher degree courses.
