The area of specialisations available in this course are  Aboriginal Studies ,Asian Studies, Australian Studies,Chinese,Classical and Medieval Studies,Creative Writing,English ,French ,German,History ,Indonesian,Japanese ,Philosophy(gender studies),Sociology ,Social Research.
General knowledge about Arts.
The major studies includes gaining of strong theoretical and practical understanding of the discipline to have a strong foundation and equipping the in-depth knowledge and skills of the discipline to engage critically with the discipline.
Normal admission requirement are successful completion of the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialisation) or Graduate Diploma in Arts (Specialisation) with a Credit average or a Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent from the University of Tasmania with Credit average results or a university degree from another university or tertiary institution, deemed to be appropriate by the Faculty of Arts; or candidates not holding a bachelor's degree but whose employment experience indicates a level of knowledge and skill deemed by the Faculty to be sufficient to complete the course satisfactorily may be deemed eligible for admission.
