Curtin College at Curtin University

This course is designed to broaden student’s employment opportunities. Students can complete a combination of public health and optional units in the health sciences major, or specialize in health information management. Health information is pivotal to clinical care, and is used as a base for healthcare planning management and legal decisions, clinical research and epidemiology, and for evaluating the standards and quality of healthcare, it is for this reason health information managers need to have strong clinical understanding in addition to extensive training in information technology and systems, data and database management and staff management.
Good knowledge of Human Biology and Mathematics.
Major study in this course includes gaining of in depth knowledge related to Health sciences, Health information management, clinical research and epidemiology.
Students are eligible to this course if they have score 5 in GCE/STPM/HKALE (A-levels - best of three), score 24 in IB, score 60 in Ontario Gr 12 (best of 6), score 70 in TER (including TEE/SACE/HSC/VCE), score 53 in WAUFP (CPS), 65% in India/Pakistan, score 6 in Sri Lanka.
This course is accredited by Australian Health Promotion Association.
Students of this course will have career as Hospital Administrator, Health Promotion Officer, Insurance Officer.
