The course is specifically designed for people with a tertiary qualification in a discipline other than computing or with a minimum of six years computing industry experience, who wish to enhance their professional qualifications by further developing computing skills and exploring current technologies,specific objectives are to provide an introduction to the theory and practice of computing to enable professionals to apply new and emerging computing technologies to their areas of expertise.
General knowledge about computing and its application.
The major studies included in this stream are designed to promote the skills and knowledge of the students hence introducing them to the theory and practice of computing, and enabling them as professionals in computing technology.
Possession of a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university or a minimum of six years work experience in the IT industry.
After pursuing this degree,GradDipComp students become eligible for student membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). On completion of the degree and entry into the computing profession, graduates can apply to become member of these bodies.
The School of Computing offers a range of courses that are suitable for students with varying levels of computer competence providing skills and knowledge to work as computer professionals. These skills are highly regarded by local, national and international employers.
